Community Barnet Giving

CommUNITY Barnet has been awarded £150,000 to run a grant scheme for Barnet. The funding comes from The National Lottery Community Fund. It will be for organisations that support people who experience disproportionate challenges due to the Covid-19 crisis, who provide services and support for vulnerable people, which connect and support communities to work together.

 

CommUNITY Barnet will work alongside Barnet Giving and independently recruited community representatives to deliver the programme.

The scheme will award grants to charitable and community groups and not-for-profit organisations within the London Borough of Barnet. All projects should benefit Barnet residents.

 

Covid-19 has had a huge impact on smaller community groups. This grant scheme is for groups that had an income of less than £500,000 in the last year. 

These are the priority areas for funding. Funding is for groups and projects that focus on the following areas:

 

  • Equality, social justice, and community cohesion, including groups that deliver activities to build cohesion and reduce conflict.

  • Supporting physical and mental health and wellbeing.

  • Tackling poverty.

CommUNITY Barnet also provides an Organisational Development service, where we give one-to-one and group guidance and coaching on setting up, governance and safeguarding, fundraising, and sustainability. We provide a Finance and Accounts service, managing payroll, accounts, and independent examination services for not-for-profit organisations.
